Have things improved?
In April 2015, 229 users visited the site. The number of users visiting the site each month has grown steadily month-on-month, and by April 2018 (when this article was written), 1,565 users visited the site, that’s an increase of 583% since we started work with them.
For the complete picture, please see the chart below, taken from Google Analytics, which shows the growth month-on-month.
But we don’t just look at changes to overall traffic as their could be many things that account for these changes. What we’re most interested in – and our clients are too – is how our efforts have improved their organic traffic and there’s a number of ways we can measure that, the most accurate being the number of clicks on their content when it is returned on the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs).
We can pull this data from their Search Console account. We can see data back to March 2017 when we last rebuilt their site, and migrated it to their new domain.
At the time of writing, end of April 2018, 1,020 clicks were recorded in the previous 28 days. Back in May 2017, for the same period of time, the number was 616, so we’re delighted to report a 65% increase here in just the last 12 months.
What we did
Following our initial consultations, as we mentioned, we first rebuilt their site for them, continued to add new products and relaunched their site again in 2017 so they could sell some of their products online.
Earlier this year we adapted the site further to promote their outdoor living products more prominently alongside their fireside equipment
In addition to these site rebuilds and product uploads the work we’ve done for them falls broadly into three categories; Content Creation, Local SEO and Performance.
We hope to continue to update their website with optimised content, promoting their product ranges and events. We’ve got a few development tasks in the pipeline which we believe will further improve the site. We’re making plans to launch a separate site for their outdoor products at some stage and will help them manage the transition should they decide to move any of their content across.
