Phase 3: How do we learn from what we’ve done?
SEO demands a methodical, granular approach.
We learn from what we do, what we read, and in the spirit of complete transparency, we share what we learn with you and apply any agreed changes to our implementation.
In short we:
- and repeat
You guessed it, let’s take each in turn.
What do we measure and what reports are provided?
We use the data sources you connected us to in the Discovery phase to report on your traffic, goals completed, the organic performance of your content and the performance of your Google My Business profile.
Using your analytics data we report on each of the key traffic metrics – users, pages per session etc – but most importantly we’ll tell you how many people converted to the objectives we’ve agreed each month.
We use your Search Console data to advise on how many clicks you earned.
And we report on your Google My Business insights – paying particularly attention to actions like, visits to your site, requests for directions and number of phone calls.
For each of these we compare data to the previous month. Once we have twelve months of data, we compare to the same month the previous year as well.
We tract the daily rankings for your keyword set for the agreed locations and devices and report on these monthly. We set reminders to ensure we are alerted to any major fluctuations.
Finally, as part of our maintenance service, we monitor any downtime on your website, the number of pages you have in Google’s index, traffic from spambots, crawl errors and broken links.
How do we learn?
We analyse and provide our feedback to you on all of the above reports each month.
In addition we stay up-to-date with what’s going on in the Search Industry but curating and writing the monthly update SEO you need to know.
As well attending webinars, listening to podcasts, contributing to industry forums, we visit arguably the largest SEO industry event, twice a year, BrightonSEO.
How do we adapt?
Once agreed with you, we feed new ideas or changes in direction back into our job list for the next quarter, and/or plan for the next 12 months.
How often do we repeat this process?
As often as we send you reports – i.e. every month!
If you prefer to meet face to face to agree any changes to the plan, rather than over email, then we’ll save up our recommendations for our next meeting.
Each year we suggest we meet for an annual review where we can make changes also.
That’s all there is to it! There are links to phases 1 and 2 below.
