By having an optimised Google My Business profile, you’ve gone a long way towards improving your local visibility on the search engine results pages (SERPs). But, it’s really important to keep your profile up-to-date, which is why we developed this innovative and flexible service.
How we update your profile, and how often is completely at your discretion.
It may be you have a lot to talk about and need us to update things weekly, or it might be that your budget doesn’t allow for this but you’re keen for your profile to be reviewed and updated once a year. It might be you’re looking for a service somewhere between these two extremes.
With this in mind we’ve highlighted the tasks we believe should be updated regularly, and a few management services that we’ll bundle in for clients who’d like us to take care of things for them on an ongoing basis.
Towards the bottom of this page we tell you roughly what it might cost.
We’ll have developed a strategy for you as part of the optimisation of your profile, but since these are typically hidden from your profile after a week, you need to keep creating Posts.
Our service extends to adding any number of Posts a week, month, quarter or year, depending on your requirements. We’ll work with you to create a schedule based on your desired frequency, help create the Posts themselves and then upload them for you.
We’ll also report back on the number of times each Post was seen and how many clicks they generated.
As part of the optimisation of your profile, we will have uploaded up to 10 services to your profile. Note, these are only visible on mobile at the time of writing.
We understand that there may be more to upload and that your business may develop new services, and discontinue others, so we offer a service where you can update us about this, at your convenience.
Photos and videos
As with Services, we know that you’ll have new images and/or videos to upload as your business grows. So we offer the service whereby we can upload these for you to your profile, as and when required.
If people leave a review about your business on your Google profile, whether they’re positive or negative, we firmly believe you need to respond to them. The reviewer will receive a notification when you reply, so it’s not a waste of time – plus your responses will be displayed in the Knowledge Panel.
We can manage this process for you, and escalate these to you if necessary. We’ll also look to take the conversation offline if required.
Questions and answers
Like Reviews, we can respond to these on your behalf as well, or prompt you to respond if you prefer.
Reviewing your profile
As you might have noticed, anyone can suggest an edit to your business’s details on Google, or answer questions about your business, and these can be put live without the consent of the business owner. As such, we’ll keep an eye out for notifications about your business information being updated and look to revert them where necessary!
Keeping you up-to-date
Google My Business as a tool is changing at a breath-taking pace. Many of the services we offer in this arena, e.g. Posts and Services, only became features in 2018. As such, we’re keeping a close eye on future developments and will keep you posted, on a monthly basis, as to any changes that you need to be aware of.
We’ll deliver a report to you, once a quarter, highlighting the most important metrics, as we see it, customer actions and the query data.
When your Knowledge Panel is returned on the SERPs, Google count the number of times this resulted in someone visiting your website, looked for directions to your business address or gave you a call. They call these customer actions.
Earlier this year (2018), Google started to provide some of the search query data that users entered which resulted in them finding your business. We think this is extremely valuable data too and love to share it.
We’ll have a consultation, or consultations (up to one hour), before we start and will request a quarterly call where you have the opportunity to feedback and for us to provide proactive suggestions.
Google My Business profile owners are prompted, sometime before public holidays, to update their opening hours on their listings should they need to. We’ll send you a form at the start of the calendar year prompting you to let us know about any changes to your opening hours over the year ahead. You’ll also have the opportunity to advise us throughout the course of the year, should circumstances change.
What does it cost?
As you’ve no doubt have realised by now, how much we do for you, and how often we do it, is down to you.
For us to upload three Posts a week is going to be more time consuming than adding one Post a month, so to be able to provide a fixed cost for this service is impossible, until we know your requirements.
Once we know what you want, we’ll happily supply a fixed price for the work.
To give you a flavour, for a business that wants us to upload one Post a week, from material supplied and add images once a month, and deliver all the other aspects of the service, would equate to roughly four hours of work, so £180 (no VAT) per month.
The best thing to do is to get in touch to discuss your requirements.
